Be More Gringo

We walked towards the gate with the guard at the private university assuming that we wouldn't have any problems getting in.  However, as I looked to the guard and spouted off in decent spanish, "We're all here for English Club," he looked strangly back at me as if I had no idea what I was talking about.

Reluctantly he lifted his key-chain and allowed us all to enter.  Shortly after I was struck with a funny statement as Oscar turned to me and said, "That would have been much easier if you would have tried to be More Gringo."

Thanks Oscar, not sure what that means but I'll try to stick out more than a white skinned, blue-eyed man in a sea of short, brown skinned, brown eyed people.  Good tip!
