Intimidation

Here's a fun fact about Venezuela.  Some times as you'll be riding on the bus two men will enter and expect people to plainly give them money in front of everyone.  They are convinced that this is a gift from the people, yet, what is really happening is that they're robbing you.

It was funny when they both stopped at my seat today and told me to open my hand (which I didn't do, of course) and soon were declaring loudly that I was a gringo and obviously had money.  Good thing that I'm just too stubborn to give up that easily.  Oh, and playing a stupid, ignorant gringo sure helped too.  So, a few seconds afterwards I was just the "Crazy Gringo" and they left the bus.

Yeah! Tell me something I don't know - better luck next time.
