Offering

What does this mean to us in our daily lives?  Are we to give things to receive something back?   Is this an obligation, desire, request, or kind thought?  It's interesting to think of such a word that rules the bounds of religiosity and spirituality.  So often I see those who are tied to the requirments of giving the "correct" offering and yet, I think there is something that is missing.  What if an offering is not for the receiver?  I'm quite certain that our actions would change if we begin to look at an offering as less of an action to gain respect, honor, or privilege and more of a demonstration of who we are, how we live, what we do.  When I think of it this way I can do nothing but crumble to my knees as I realize how quick to selfish gain I am regarding my offering.

"What am I offering to others on a daily basis through my words, actions, motives, thoughts, and life?"
