Friends

It has been said that I am a person of many acquaintances but few friends; tonight I felt just the opposite of that. As all those remembered faces trickled through my door I couldn’t help but question, “Why are so many people coming tonight?” I know this sounds odd coming from someone who is having a ‘Going Away Party,’ yet it still ran through my thoughts as I laughed, shared, parted and enjoyed time with every person who came from far, near and in-between (thanks Kellom's). Regardless, the question slowly began to change over those six simple hours and by the end of the night my question was: “Why am I leaving so many people: Friends?”
